July 2008: Sister releases musical version of Declaration of Independence
Yes, all the rumors are true. Sister has written, arranged and recorded an amazing interpretation of the Declaration of Independence, which you just must download, listen to a million times, memorize and pass on to all your peeps. Why, you ask? Because this belongs to you! And it's free!
So, why the Declaration? Well, once, when Kara was helping her son, JB, with his homework, she found herself flipping through a Webster and coming across the Declaration of Independence and thought, "I think I will read this." After reading it, she was so amazed by its brilliance that she thought, "I think I'll memorize this." After memorizing it she was so amazed by its potential to empower people (including herself) that she thought, "I think I'll sing this."
After singing it she thought, "I think it needs some music" and called up a guy named Rich Farris and sang it to him over the phone. He called back a couple of days later and said, "I think I have something." Together they made a demo and then brought the demo to the brilliant mind of arranger - Sister Alisa. Alisa thought, "I think it should go like this." She taught her arrangement to the Sister trio and to several talented musicians including her husband Tom Leonard, bassist Joel Cooper and guitarist Peter Diggins. They together made this recording that they want to share with the world because "we think it belongs to everybody."
That is our story. We think you will like it.
